Punters and Tipsters default

March profit makers have media written all over it

March produced one of the best performances from the Australian racing media since we started recording their performance back in 2009, with no less than four expert media analysts filling the top six profit maker positions. The fact that Media Tipsters represent a considerably smaller portion of the total punters and tipsters who appear in the Tip Market speaks volumes for their over representation amongst the top performers in March.

Top Cash Profit performance

Two of the Top 3 performances came from Australia's racing media however the top spot went to a punter who comes from the Wagga Wagga district in country New South Wales, TurfCutter. The New South Welshman averaged 9 bets a day in March and produced 99 winners representing a very smart 35% strike rate, with winners averaging over $4 using best tote odds. Punters following his selections with $100 win bets now have an extra $12,030 in the bank. While punters who followed him with place bets also faired well from his amazing 59% place strike rate. Averaging over $2 a place his selections made $6,088 from $100 place bets.

Previous Punter of the Month winner Shayne OCass from the Sportsman was the first runner-up tipping 51 winners from 184 selections during the month (28% strike rate) at average best tote odds of $4.82. Punters following his best bet selections with $100 bets made a $6,200 profit.

Second runner-up was respected form expert Tony Brassel from Sky Racing. Tony had 51 winners during the month from 157 best bet selections representing a 33% strike rate, with his winners averaging over $4.

Top Profit On Turnover performance

Some punters like to make less frequent measured bets. These punters tend to perform better when measuring their profit as a percentage of turnover. This week's top performer in this category was Tasmanian punter Moose12 boasting 60% profit on turnover. From 43 selections placed during the month the Taswegian found 16 winners which together averaged $4.29 best tote odds.

Just 1% point behind, the runner-up was one of Radio Sports National's Victorian race callers Rick McIntosh. Rick found 12 winners from his 35 best bets during the month representing 59% profit on turnover. AAP form analyst and racing journalist Stephen Rodgers wasn't far behind with 53% profit on turnover from 33 selections posted during the month.

The performance of the Australian racing media in March was exceptional. In addition to filling four of the top six positions, the collective tipping effort from the group of racing anlysts almost broke even in the month.

42% of the Australian racing media made a profit in March while only 27% of the punters achieved the same feat.

Make sure you check the Tip Market to access the selections of winning punters every day.
