Sandown Race 1 Tip #6 Miracle Day $3.95

The son of Street Boss showed plenty of ability as a two-year-old.

On debut in late 2019 he ran second behind Supreme Idea, who was a subsequent Listed grade winner.

He then struggled to produce his best at his following start, but had excuses in the run after finishing 8 of 10 at Geelong.

Connections then opted sent to him to the paddock and he returned off 188-day spell in July last year, when he ran an encouraging fourth behind Esta La Roca at Cranbourne.

There has been decent form come out of that race, with Esta La Roca going on to notch up a few more victories and runner-up Frederick The Dane breaking his maiden status a month later.

The Robert Hickmott trained galloper has been given a good break since that run and has returned with a jump-out win against Diamonds, who we know is above average.

Look for Craig Williams to make use of barrier 1 today and sit handy in the run.

With even luck, I expect him to break his maiden status today.

Kensington Race 8 Tip #2 Tommy Gold $4.60 (Thursday)

I'm sticking with the class of the John O’Shea trained galloper Tommy Gold, who looks well placed back to midweek grade.

Following his devastating maiden win as a 2YO on the Kensington surface, he has been thrown in the deep end racing against some good types.

Last time out, he contested the Listed Fireball stakes over 1100m where he was only beaten by Group 1 place-getter Wild Ruler. That form profiles well for a race like this.

He peaks here fourth-up and gets back to the Kensington track, where he's 2:1-1-0.

Being by Sacred Falls (NZ), he is bred to handle a wet surface and was placed in Listed grade on a soft surface last preparation.

Connections have found Tom Marquand to take the ride and from the good gate and with class on his side, he looks awfully hard to beat.
