Slipper contender betting plunge

Autumn stakes racing is full steam ahead and this weekend's racing continues to build towards the Golden Slipper and the rich staying features.

Last week we identified leading Slipper fancy Tenley, who was backed off the map before cruising down the centre of the track to win with ease.

Pro punters have singled out another Slipper hope for specific attention this week, and the money has been relentless for this particular colt featured in this article.

Flemington tips from early market movers

Flemington

Clarice Cliffs

Featured in this column last start when backed off the map before just missing here over 1400m.

She drops back to the 1200m now and does have an unblemished record at the distance (2:2-0-0).

This looks her race and she will be storming down the middle section of the straight to be in the finish. Yes.

East Indiaman

Is from the shrewd McEvoy yard and they do enjoy a bet if one of their horses is ready.

He won well last start in provincial grade when he rode the speed and pulled away clearly at the end.

Has to overcome the outside gate (14) however appears to have the tactical speed and can simply carve across the face of the chargers to lead.

Watch betting for a further push late.

Talented

Looks exactly what the name would suggest, following the debut win and stakes grade placing at her latest outing.

The Microphone form looks enormous and I expect that is why punters have chimed in here.

Draws the right side of the track to link up in behind those coming down the middle section, and from there she can peel wide towards clean air and win.

Spirit Of Aquada

Was backed off the map last start as well, when $5.00 into $4.20 very late in betting.

This stable are lethal and rider Ben Melham is known to have some tricks when it comes to setting them up to win.

Some bookies have him ultra short and must have seen the very shrewd pro money to warrant the savage price cut.

Should simply win.

Easy Eddie

Loves to lead but will have some company early here, however he's likely to find the front or race just outside the lead.

The latest trial was very soft when he was kept under double wraps throughout the running, yet still revealed his quality.

The Pride stable have backed him before to get the cash and it looks a good chance they will do the same again here.

Athiri

Gun Godolphin filly who was highly fancied to win the Blue Diamond before running a great race to finish 4 of 14, close behind the winner.

This looks much easier and the speed map favours are significant from gate 1.

Will make her presence felt.

Cosmic Force

Is one of the biggest betting plunges nationwide and the money does look warranted considering his Microphone form.

He must have improved significantly following the last start run where he jumped as a $14 chance.

These large changes in SP profile from race to race do attract attention and something appears to be afoot.

Could just blow them away.

Fifty Stars

Was brilliant when winning the Blamey last start at Flemington.

That was enough for connections to come straight to Sydney and build towards the rich Autumn features.

He maps well and can tag likely leader Dreamforce throughout, before angling out to clean air and rushing home hard over the top.

The pro money looks spot on.
