Sunshine Coast Race 2 Tip #7 Steinbrenner $4.50

He fought like a caged lion in his last win at Doomben over 1600m.

The Mark Currie trained galloper worked very hard from wide out for the first 700m, before sitting at the flanks of the leader. After taking the lead in the straight, he kept finding on the line to be too strong.

He is up in grade and distance to 1800m here, though his Northerly like effort showed he is more than capable of taking the next step.

Experienced hoop Bobby Elissa knows what he has under the bonnet with this bloke and will ride him close to the speed again.

He will be the aggressor in this contest and will take power of running down.

Sunshine Coast Race 4 Tip #4 Cochrane $2.40

This stable is hot and Maloney has jumped off Gemelon Bolt, after running 2nd on debut, to ride this galloper.

He trialled on him just over a week ago and looks ready to win here first-up after being gelded.

He went toe-to-toe with Alpine Edge on debut in December, who was flying at the time.

He then went down to Sydney, started $4.40 but raced ungenerously throughout.

The ear muffs go on to settle him as he returns to the races following the 7 week let-up.

From barrier 2, he can sit off the fast speed and get the gaps.

His high profile ownership including stud farms will be looking for a return on investment now that he has had the ultimate gear change.

Flemington Race 5 Tip #2 Fabergino $3.20

Perth flying machine who suffered her first defeat in four starts, running 4th over 1000 metres at Flemington behind Nature Strip in the Black Caviar Lightning.

She raced by herself out wide that day, which may have been the slower part of the track.

It was Michael Poy's first ride on her, so he will be better for the experience.

Newcastle Race 2 Tip #11 Loving Angel $12.00

I thought this two-year-old filly went well in its first trial.

She moved up late without much riding from the jockey and was not far off Robodira, who has already been to the races and won.

The next trial was not as flash, but it was against Captivant and Mallory who has won a Group 3.

Expect her to show enough early toe to go forward and prove hard to catch over the 900m with the light-weight.

Ascot Race 4 Tip #3 Power Of St George $19.00

Power of St George is definitely a horse who mixes his form, but no doubt his best is definitely good enough here.

His run two back on Magic Millions day was a real eye-catcher, when he was a long way off them before rattling home.

Prior to that he finished behind Last of The Line, albeit in a different postcode. That runner came out and won at Listed grade last Saturday.

I'm willing to forgive his last run and given he's also a previous 66+ winner over the mile, he's proven at this set-up.

Paul Harvey is on and he's finally drawn a gate in a field with no stand-outs, is enough to raise any punters eye.

There doesn't appear to be a huge amount speed in the race so if Harvey can jump him cleanly and land the 1x1 or 1x2, it will be a far more advantageous position than he has been in lately.

He can be a hard horse to catch but if he brings his best, he is right in this.
