15/2/20 Harness racing tips: Albion Park

Only a small eight race card is scheduled for Albion Park tonight.

There has been plenty of rain around all week, so there is always that little worry that the track might offer some bias. However, with fine weather on Friday and Saturday the track should play in evenly.

Race 2 GOTTA GO CULLECT @ EGMONT PARK STUD QUALIFYING PACE ; 6.13PM ; 2138M 

BUMPER (8) gets a perfect barrier draw tonight, as he draws to follow out WHERES THE SPIRIT (1) and get the gun run behind the leader. From that spot with first use of the sprint lane, he will be very hard to stop. He's a nice sit sprinter who gets conditions to suit tonight.

MAYWYN'S COURAGE (6) hasn’t had any luck yet since he's been back with the barrier draws, but as soon as the slightest bit of luck falls this horse’s way he will be winning. He has always shown potential, but I do think he is a much better horse this time in.

The gate / map is against him and he is rather unproven over the longer, trip but I do think he's a better horse now and that won’t be an issue this time in. Just needs a slice of luck somewhere tonight.

WHERE'S THE SPIRIT (1) gets the right gate tonight to show his best. Has led and run 1.55 over this trip in-front, so that gives him a good hope tonight.

The last 100m is just a worry for me with him tonight, as the way the race maps he looks likely to have a few handy ones eyeing him off in the later stages. He’s sure to give a sight out in-front though and has the right driver on to throw him over the line.

GOTTA MOMENT (11) is always a chance in a race like this. Doesn’t have his usual driver which is a worry, but he just needs the right trip to be dangerous late.

Race 3 PRYDES EASIFEED QUALIFYING B PACE ; 6.40PM ; 2138M  

CELTIC CRUZA (11) looks thrown in here against these and should be too strong. In his last three runs, he's had a bit of a rest along the fence and in his latest start he was running all over them looking for clean air.

Five runs ago, he sat outside of Dapper and ran second in nice time. That effort wins this blindfolded. He looks very hard to beat tonight.

MY SECRET BEACH (6) hasn’t really delivered since being in QLD, but he does have good gate speed and might be able to get across early which would give him a small chance.

ONE WISE MAN (7) never really gets much luck with the barriers and that has continued here. Class wise, he matches up very well here and the trainer does a good job with his small team. Small chance with a little bit of luck.

IFOUNDTHEBEACH (8) is going well but does map to be at least three off the fence here. Is another who is a small chance if he gets a slice of luck at the right time.

Race 5 REMEMBERING WASHAKIE BAND 4 / BAND 2 PACE ; 7.42PM ; 1660M 

A very good race here and there looks to be some value.

TULHURST ACE (2) is racing better than his numerical form properly looks and the camp came back to life on Tuesday. He will likely push forward and race on the pace. Expect him to run a very good race at what might be a nice price.

DREAM TO SHARE (4) is flying and from the handy gate, can find a decent spot. If the right split comes at the right time, they will do well to hold him out. Going as good as ever.

OUR MAJOR DAY (8) is at his absolute limit class wise here but he does draw to get a gun run, if SPIKE BROMAC (1) chooses to try to lead all the way. If he gets first crack at the sprint lane, he can win this race.

SECRETAGENT TYCOON (6) copped a BBQ last time. The stewards report stated that they will not be lighting him up again for a while.

With this in mind, he has to be going back tonight which means the map isn’t great. However, if there is a lot of action up front in this one he can use his turn of foot and is a small chance.

SPIKE BROMAC (1) might want to lead these tonight, but the last 150m or so are a massive worry for him in this class so I am happy to be against.

CASINO TOMMY (7) is flying but all of his form is in front. No lead tonight from gate 7, so he is facing a massive task. Have to pot. Good race, play the value.
