9/2/19 Best bets at Caulfield

High quality card
AAPThis week's Caulfield card boasts no fewer than 8 stakes races and most importantly, the first Group 1 race of the year.
Punters will be spoilt for choice with high quality gallopers featuring throughout the day.
Whilst the favoured runners look to have the Blue Diamond Preludes at their mercy, I have found one in the last at odds which is likely to lead all the way.
Race 5 Blue Diamond Prelude C&G (Group 3 2yo) 1100m
The two drawn the inside, Hulk (2) and I Am Immortal (1), should both hunt up to lead here, with the latter having the fence at his advantage to take control.
I Am Immortal deserves favouritism following his dominant front running display last start here in the Preview. With the favourable draw, he will be very hard to beat.
Can't ignore Godolphin, who have the luxury of dipping into their vast 2yo talent pool to enter the best in these types of races.
They have Auxin (4) here, who has been in the market his past two and run well enough in both.
Best at odds ($11) is Hawker Hurricane (8), who won the Magic Millions Clockwise at Ballarat on debut.
Best Racing Tips
1st I Am Immortal
2nd Hulk
3rd Auxin
4th Hawker Hurricane
Race 6 Blue Diamond Prelude Fillies (Group 2 2yo) 1100m
The girls get their chance here and it will be interesting to line-up their times against the boys in the race prior.
There's speed from Vinicunca (16), who will have no choice other than to press forward from the widest draw (gate 16).
The key fancies will be happy to let her go and that leaves Lankan Star (4) and Catch Me (3) to drop in behind the leaders.
Catch Me was ultra impressive winning the Fillies Preview here last start and is hard to fault.
She was wide and still kept coming, which reveals her quality.
Athiri (8) is the strongest Godolphin hope and importantly James McDonald's management have hunted down the ride for him, which is a strong indication she is going well.
Have to respect the Oliver factor on Lankan Star, with this filly having good race experience and showing plenty of talent.
Best Racing Tips
1st Catch Me
2nd Athiri
3rd Lankan Star
4th Vinicunca

Race 9 JC Swift Hodges TS Carlyon Cup (Group 3) 1600m
Trap For Fools (4) will lead with ease and be kicking for a long way in the final event of the day.
I doubt any will be keen to challenge him and contrary to most speed maps, the pace should slacken at some stage throughout.
Night's Watch (2) and Avilius (8) are the two that can be dynamic enough first-up and will be storming home late in an attempt to collar the leader.
The stouter types, which will appreciate the run and be looking at longer targets, include Ace High (6) and Sikandarabad (3) who still have the quality to run into a place.
Watch betting close to the jump for good leads with all the first-up brigade.
Best Racing Tips
1st Trap For Fools
2nd Nights Watch
3rd Avilius
4th Sikandarabad
