Don’t fall into Brave Smash third up at the unders
Rosehill Race 2 #1 Show A Star
Can appreciate why they are all over him again this week after the good win at Warwick Farm, where he kicked again late to fight them all off after setting a warp speed tempo throughout. This is another step up where he is taking on a few classy ones who should have his measure.
The Farm run was a real gut buster and those runs do have the tendency to flatten a horse next start, will need to be something special for a repeat here against this quality. Bookies should be locked up and key thrown away for serving up $2.90 to customers here!
Caulfield Race 6 #3 Brave Smash
High quality gelding, however bookies have got it completely wrong this week, marking him $3.30. He has the same profile as last prep, where after posting an unbelievable second-up performance was rolled third-up, much to punters dismay after being sent out the $1.65 favourite. Suspect he is at his best fresh, towards the very start of the prep and we are now beyond that here.
The pattern for him is to get well back and run on, and will need plenty of luck to be getting past some of these, in a field that features enough class elsewhere. “Frosty” (Damian Lane) usually gets first choice of the Weir runners and stays with Humidor here. Happy to oppose him at the current $3.30 quote.
