With only one week until the international jockey challenge meeting, we have eight races set for decision at Happy Valley on Wednesday.

The races will be held on the “A” course, which is a fair racing surface with the least track bias.

The weather in Hong Kong will be fine on Wednesday, and punters can expect the going to be in the Good range.

Zac Purton is suspended from this meeting, while local riders Dylan Mo, Jack Wong, Matthew Chadwick and Matthew Poon will also be absent. This leaves only 16 jockeys engaged for rides throughout the meeting.

Jerry Chau and Neil Callan are in career best form at moment, and have been booked for 7 and 5 mounts respectively.

With 45 winners so far this season, Joao Moreira is the leading jockey and he will have 7 rides today, most of which have a good winning chance.

Happy Valley Race 3 Tip #10 Ready Conqueror $2.75

At his tenth career outing, Ready Conqueror finished in the placings for the first time last start over this same course and distance.

The blinkers went on for that clash and it was his first time racing at The Valley, which suggests his racing style suits the track.

He jumped fast from gate 8 that day and showed good speed, but just found one better after being beaten by a nose.

The four-year-old gelding is improving, having galloped well last week and is clearly maturing as a race horse.

He draws gate 3 for this clash which will allow him to lead and with Joao on board, he can go one better here and break his maiden.

Happy Valley Race 8 Tip #6 Scores Of Fun $2.90

Scores Of Fun is a four-year-old rising star, having scored 2 wins and 2 seconds in his 5 career starts so far.

Last time out at his Happy Valley debut, he put in an impressive performance and was only beaten by the course and distance expert Guy Dragon with a short head margin.

Joao retains the ride for this clash and jumping from gate 7 isn't a problem because his racing pattern is dynamic.

Look for him to settle in midfield with cover, before producing in the straight.

Expect him to improve at his second outing at The Valley today and notch up his third career victory.
