Lester pulls a Pakenham punch

Tagged: DeaneLester

Deane Lester fired for punters at Pakenham last Saturday, in what was a perfect example of the value of his staking plan.

The undisputed king of Victorian form analysis bagged four winners on the card, including both of his best bets.

What this meant in terms of profit on turnover was significant to say the least.

Punters who backed Deane Lester's Pakenham tips with an even stake enjoyed a handy 23% Profit on Turnover (POT).

But punters who followed Deane's staking plan available in his exclusive race day package shot the lights out, finishing up with a bumper 70% POT.

In his staking plan, Deane not only ups his stake suggestion for his best bets, but also suggests staking on multiple horses in a race if he thinks there is more than one winning chance.

On top of that, he'll often stay out of some races all together if he thinks they lack value or are too unpredictable.

And based on his results at Pakenham, it's hard to argue against this betting strategy.

Punters wanting to get in on the action will have the perfect opportunity at Flemington on Saturday.

It's a track where Deane has been flying of late, having recorded a 34% POT from 88 Flemington tips over the past 90 days.

Deane Lester's horse racing tips review at Pakenham 5th December 2020:

Race 2: #7 Defiant Dancer (15 units) and #8 Meteorite (10 units)

Deane made sure that punters pinged out of the barriers on Saturday, delivering a big winner with his first tips.

He suggested a high stake bet on Defiant Dancer, who was just too quick for them over the short trip.

The Philip Stokes-trained horse paid as much as $4.70 on the tote.

Race 3: #4 Humble Pie (5 units) and #10 Zachaz (10 units)

Deane went back-to-back here, after his higher-stake bet Zachaz got the job done.

The gelding from the Maher & Eustace yard was too strong at the end of 2000 metres.

It paid a handy $4.20.

Race 4: #8 Capodano (10 units) and #14 Westbrook Park (5 units)

The result wasn't as good here, with both of Deane's tips finishing in the middle of the pack.

It was Serengeti who caused a minor boilover to win in double-figure odds.

Race 5: #1 Night's Watch (5 units) and #8 Tavidance (Best Bet- 20 units)

Deane couldn't have been any more spot on with his tips in Race 5.

His best bet Tavidance won in a canter, paying $2.10.

On top of that Deane's other tip Night's Watch ran into second place at a price.

Punters who chucked both tips in a quinella enjoyed the $15.40 payout.

Race 8: #5 The Astrologist (Best Bet- 20 units)

Deane's other best bet of the day got the chocolates.

Despite a challenge from Wild Vixen, The Astrologist kicked back for a tough win.

The market got it right, with The Astrologist starting a $2.50 favourite.

Race 9: #5 Kuramae (5 units) and #10 Hasstobegood (15 units)

In an open race to round out the card, Deane two tips both ran a solid race.

They weren't good enough to reel in Metronome however, who greeted the judge at 10/1 odds.
