The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr trained Bondi Beau showed plenty at the jump outs prior to his first-up run at Dunkeld.
In one of the jump-outs, he performed well against Smiler Marshall and Mr Midori. The former went on to win impressively on debut, whilst the latter also tasted victory first-up.
Bondi Beau's first-up effort over the 1000m was encouraging. In that clash he was defeated 2.25 lengths by Zou Dancer, who is a horse I have a lot of time for.
I have no doubt he'll strip fitter second-up and is well suited stepping out to the 1200m here.
Jack Hill retains the ride and from barrier 2, I expect him to settle just off the speed for a soft run in transit.
Hamilton Race 4 Tip #2 Delightful Tycoon $20.00
I was with Delightful Tycoon on debut after a couple of eye catching jump-outs.
Jumping from a wide barrier, he was forced to race at the back of the field before making up nice ground in the straight at Donald.
He will take huge improvement from his first career start and will appreciate the extra distance today.
The extra trip will allow him to settle a bit closer in the run and if he's within striking distance on the home turn, he'll go close!
