We head south to the Sapphire Coast for racing on Monday, with a strong 7 race meeting ahead for punters.
This looks a solid betting card, with some promising gallopers stepping out.
The track is currently rated a Good 4 and cool weather is forecast.
The rail is in the true position and at this set-up, I expect the track to play fair.
Horse Racing Tips from Michael Gannon
Sapphire Coast Race 2 Tip #2 Exotic Deel $1.60
This girl has opened shorter than a garden gnome, but looks set to continue on her winning ways today.
She's returned in fine order this prep, saluting in a moderate Class 1 at Canberra before heading to Gundagai on Snake Gully Cup day to win a BM58 in fine style.
This is an obvious step-up in grade, but she drops 1.5kg and has drawn perfectly in barrier 2.
The step up to 1600m is ideal third-up and the booking of Shaun Guymer to retain the ride is ideal.
From the soft draw expect Guymer to settle on-pace in a slowly run race, before hitting the go button on the home turn.
Sapphire Coast Race 3 Tip #9 Blackhill Kitty $7.00
This filly by Ready for Victory has trialled extremely well in open company and has found a very winnable race on debut.
She showed good early toe at her most recent trial, running second to Kattegat whose career record reads 12:2-1-2.
She was hardly tested the entire journey, but held her own against proven winners.
The short priced favourite in the race, Divine Breath, has great form lines and has trialled well leading into this. However from barrier 10, she has her work cut out for her.
In what looks a two-horse race, I'm happy to be with the debutant at the $7 quote!
