Victorian racing heads north to Wodonga on Friday for an eight-race card, with the $100,000 Wodonga Cup highlighting the day's action.

The track is currently a Good 4 and the weather is expected to be fine.

The rail is in the true position for the entire circuit and at this set-up, the track will play fair.

Wodonga Race 3 Tip #2 Palacio Musico $2.50

Last start over the 1350m at Donald, this Snitzel gelding was only collared late on the line by Boom Boom Sweet.

That race rated well on the clock for a maiden and the fourth placed horse has since franked that form by going on to taste victory.

The step-up to 1400m for this clash is no concern, given he's now fourth-up and has fitness on his side.

He looks a class above these and should be saluting.

Wodonga Race 8 Tip #4 Housay $1.75

This promising gelding from the Shea Eden stable ran in the greys race at Flemington last start and was only beaten by 1 length.

That race was won by the talented Berdibek, who narrowly defeated multiple metropolitan winners Star Missile and Mr Tipla.

He drops significantly in grade from a BM90 to a BM70 for this clash, and will be better suited dropping 100m back to the 1300m journey.

This race is much easier than his last start assignment. If he's come through that run well and can produce a similar performance, he'll be hard to beat.

From barrier 6 and with Jamie Kah aboard, expect the son of Zebedee to be ridden positively and sit one pair back in the running line.

If he assumes that position in the run, it'll be all over bar the shouting!
