After the big meeting at Sha Tin last Sunday, we head to Happy Valley for an eight-race card on Wednesday night.
The “C+3” course will be used for the meeting, which is a narrow track and typically favours front-runners from inside gates.
The weather in Hong Kong will be fine on Wednesday night, with the going expected to be in the Good range.
Jockeys Karis Teetan, Vincent Ho and Alfred Chan are suspended from this meeting, while Matthew Poon is recovering from injury.
The feature race of the meeting comes in Race 7, where last start winners Classic Unicorn, Explosive Whiteness and Baltic Success square off in a Class 2 over 1000m.
Classic Unicorn has drawn gate 1, which will allow him to go straight to the lead. If he wins again, his rating is likely to reach 100.
Happy Valley Race 3 Tip #9 Rewarding Together $2.45
Rewarding Together has shown plenty of improvement this season and he is now a more mature galloper.
Last time out, he exploded out of the wide barrier before finishing third. It was an encouraging performance and he'll learn from that experience.
He races at Happy Valley for the first time on Wednesday, but trialled well at this venue back in May which suggests he can handle this track.
Joao Moreira will be on board for this clash and jumping from gate 2 suits well, as he can use the gelding's gate speed to lead.
He faces weaker rivals this time and looks set to break his maiden at start five.
Happy Valley Race 4 Tip #4 Monkey Jewellery $11.00
Monkey Jewellery hasn't won since his seasonal debut in 2019, which has seen his rating tumble.
Now at the rating of 57, he'll only carry 59kg tonight which makes him a strong contender.
He's had three starts at Sha Tin so far this season and on each occasion, he showed good gate speed but found a few better.
Trainer John Size has opted to send his horse to Happy Valley for this assignment, which will suit his on-pace racing style.
Vagner Borges is a proven front-running rider, so he is a suitable booking for this horse.
If he jumps smoothly, he's a good chance of leading and winning at nice odds.
