Eyebrow raising moves

Following a busy Flemington carnival, the show rolls on to Sandown this Saturday for a string of quality stakes races.

There's also a good support card at Newcastle, which plays host to it's popular stand alone NSW metropolitan meeting.

Pro punters are keen on a number of horses, with a vicious move for a Godolphin two-year-old in Melbourne raising eyebrows.

As always, another strong push close to start time would create extreme confidence for each of the below selections.

Sandown betting moves

Sandown Tips

Hanseatic

Godolphin two-year-old who looks to be showing the stable something behind closed doors.

He trialled well leading in after finishing 2 of 10 at Cranbourne, however there is more to this betting move than that.

I love the fact that he's a rare Anthony Freedman trained Godolphin horse and the trainer will be naturally motivated to impress the Sheik. Yes.

Azuro

Is the horse on everyone’s lips in this race and the track whispers are that he should blow them all away.

He was good (3 of 10) in the Hotham behind Downdraft and has more upside than most of these.

Should find a mid-field position with cover, before mowing them all down late.

Xilong

Looks a smart McEvoy trained three-year-old filly, who was far too talented to leave in Adelaide.

She was excellent (3 of 15) in Stakes grade last start at Flemington, where she was only 0.4 lengths off the winner.

This race looks much easier and she is very well placed.

Crystal Dreamer

Is an experienced sprinter, who has a habit of bobbing up at good odds.

She won at Caulfield first-up, before having plenty of excuses last time at the same track when she had no luck.

The third-up stats are good (6:3-0-0) and she could easily bounce back here.

Newcastle Tips

Hinchbest

A two-year-old first starter who has trialled well in the lead up to this, after finishing 1 of 8 at Warwick Farm.

The Baker/McDonald combination can be lethal and they have found each other again here.

Gate 7 is a slight concern, however over the short course 900m I doubt any of the runners will be looking for cover.

Could be far too speedy for them.

Redouble

Trainer Tracy Bartley often places them to perfection, however there were clearly problems behind the scenes last start when there was a big market drift for this horse and he did nothing.

This could be the grand final and if more money comes on the day, be very wary.

It smells of a bookmaker ambush to me. Yes.

Rule The World

Looks to have plenty of quality and should jump straight to the front, as per the stable's preferred pattern.

He remains unbeaten in all three career starts and deserves his chance at Group level.

First try at 1600m is a query, however you can trust Tim Clark can secure a cheap sectional and have something left in the tank late.

Savatiano

Is very dynamic on her day and does come via the Group 1 Empire Rose at Flemington.

The draw in gate 18 is not ideal, however she does have the tactical speed to overcome it and can even push forward for the lead if they choose.

With any luck finding a position, expect her to fight out the finish.

There are plenty of horse racing sites offering freebies but theGreatTipOff.com is the only place where you get free horse racing tips with validated profit statistics displaying against each tipster's name.
