Free Horse Racing Tips: Oaks Day 2018

Best bets at Flemington for Oaks Day
Flemington Race 3 Tip #7 Savacool $4.40
This galloper from the Chris Waller stable impressed at her last, when making up significant ground to flash home for second at Randwick.
At her only start in Victoria, she showed the ability to handle the Melbourne way of going, winning over 1600m at Caulfield.
The mare by Savabeel tends to settle beyond midfield and will be well suited to the long Flemington straight.
Melbourne Cup winning jockey Kerrin McEvoy is booked to ride, and he knows the mare well having had two previous rides on her.
Drawn barrier four, look for McEvoy to smoke the pipe at the back of the field before peeling deep on the turn and flying over the top late.
Flemington Race 6 Tip #4 Kaepernick $6.00
This runner from the O'Shea stable brings strong form lines into this race, having run second to Everest winner Redzel.
That run was over the Randwick 1000m, where he wound up late and chased the leaders down to finish 1-length behind the champion sprinter.
His two efforts down the Flemington straight have been in Group 2 company and while they've been only average, he's had excuses.
Drawn perfectly in barrier 17, jockey Tye Angland will likely settle beyond midfield and with any luck in the run, fly down the outside rail late to take it out.

Flemington Race 8 Tip #1 Amphitrite $3.30
Had absolutely no luck in the Empire Rose Stakes last start, when getting blocked for a run at a crucial time and never seeing daylight.
She won her previous four starts including the Group 1 Thousand Guineas as well as the Edward Manifold Stakes, where she beat home Verry Elleegant (lines up here) by 2.5 lengths.
Being sixth-up now and rock hard fit, expect her to handle the step-up in distance with ease and prove too good.

Flemington Race 5 Tip #13 Chocada $7.50
The Von Costa de Hero gelding oozed class in her most recent trial, before being sent out a short-priced favourite.
Unfortunately for punters, jockey Craig Williams left his run a little too late, finishing 0.3 lengths second.
She looks a progressive type and is well suited in this race with the lightweight.
Craig Williams sticks and will be looking to make amends for her last start.
