Melbourne Cup round up

 AAP

The 2015 Melbourne Cup will go down in history as one of the most memorable for many different reasons. One of Australia's hardest working jockeys, Michelle Payne, achieved the holy grail in racing by riding the Cup winner and becoming the first female rider in the race's history to do so. Trainer Darren Weir also bagged his first ever Cup and the horse behind it all, Prince Of Penzance, was one of only four horses in the Cup's 154 year history to win at triple figure odds. The last horse to do that was Old Rowley in 1940.

Multiple bets drive Cup profit

No surprise that only a handful of punters picked the outsider to win the Cup at theGreatTipOff.com amongst a large group of media experts and regular punters. One of the astute punters who got it right was TryMe , taking advantage of our real betting interface to select three runners in the Cup. Showcasing her ability to rate a run, she took the two top finishes in the Moonee Valley Cup, The United States and Prince Of Penzance in addition to Gust Of Wind who finished a close sixth in the race.

Try me has profited $9,130 fro $100 bets from her selections over the past 7 days.

Melbourne Cup heartbreak

In the hard luck corner we can reveal a decision that will haunt one punter for the rest of his natural born life. After taking a cash-out multi on Cup day, (an all-up where you can opt out and collect all or part of the earnings at a point in a live multi) he decided to cash-out and collect after his the first three legs saluted. The good news is that he pocketed $441.20. The bad news is that if he didn't cash-out he would have taken home $138,510.

Better stay at home next year

We're hoping this young lass won a few bob on the Cup to pay for her expenses in court over the next few months. What was she thinking?
