Tipsters rising fast

 AAP

It's often disputed when trying to work out a horse's form whether one should pay more attention to their career or recent form. We asked the same question about our pro-tipsters. After all the objective here is to find the tipsters who are going to make you money when you next take their tips. What they have done over their entire career may not be as important as what they have done recently. This week we analysed the leader board to identify the pro tipsters who may not be in the Top 10 but are rising fast.

To get our list of 'fast risers' we went back over the past 2-3 month's history and identified those tipster's who's Win Profit % had increased significantly. The results were interesting.

Of these 7 rising stars the top 2 have shown a rise in excess of 15%. We obtained week-to-week win profit graphs for Kevin Casey from Best Bets, and Mark Hunter from 927 am courtesy of https://thegreattipoff.com which provides detailed charts for all its tipsters.

Kevin Casey's, week-to-week profit graph tells a tale of consistency right through the Spring Carnival.

Out of the 11 weeks assessed Kevin fired out 6 weeks in profit.  Those 6 weeks included profit weeks of 58%, 76%, 88% and an incredible 157%.  His 5 losing weeks were minor with his worse result over the period a 37% loss.  His last 15 tip trend is littered with 7 wins and 3 places producing an each way return 67% of the time.

The legendary Mark Hunter has a similar tale to tell.

Over the 11 weeks, Mark has posted a profit 5 times and did not tip on 1 occasion which means he was in the money 50% of the time.  His losses were also mild with his worst performance being a 38% loss back on October 4 2009.

The question we have to ask ourselves about these fast risers is: How long will their run last?  Is it a flash in the pan? Do they only perform well when the class horses are in work? Or is this the start of a run that will take them to the Top 10 of the Australian Pro Tipsters Leader Board.  Only time will tell. But you can be assured that a 3 month run of success could hardly be a fluke.
