Shrewd Spring moves

Some of the early season two-year-olds have been kicking off their careers in recent weeks. Early market moves in betting are always a key guide when assessing their chances, especially with those who've had no public trial.

One in particular has been singled out in the Flemington two-year-old feature this week and it may pay to follow.

Strong betting moves have also been seen at Randwick, where a leading Everest contender has been heavily backed.

As always with the below selections, look for a further push late in betting to add extreme confidence.

Flemington

Flemington Tips

Deep Speed

Hasn't had a public trial, however must be showing the stable plenty at home to warrant this move in betting.

The stable do like a bet and it appears they have set this colt up for exactly that.

Watch betting late and if another wave of money came, it would pay to follow.

Wayupinthesky

Was heavily backed here last start for her straight track debut and didn’t disappoint, with a dominant win when she charged late.

There is a key scratching of the other fancied runner, however the betting move was still there prior. This suggests that she's set to chalk up back-to-back victories.

Look for her to tuck in behind midfield, before storming over the top of them late. Yes

Independent Road

The step-up to 1800m is key here and the addition of blinkers for the first time indicates that the stable have him ready to win this race.

Whilst putting in only an even effort over the 1400m here last start when he finished 8 of 14, the gelding should improve significantly over the longer trip.

Surprise Baby

Is a gun staying prospect who is on a Melbourne Cup path and should be fit enough following the Feehan Stakes first-up effort, where he finished 4 of 15.

The Paul Preusker trained horse seems to be able to run through brick walls and he will get back before unleashing hell on them late.

Randwick

Randwick Tips

Shock Alert

Was hard in the market last start at Rosehill, before racing close to speed and prevailing in a dog-fight to the line.

The stoutness showed last start will make him awfully hard to get past now back to 1600m and he can sit outside the leader and simply demoralise this field. Yes.

Classique Legend

Had a flashing light run first-up here in the Shorts, where his condition just gave out late and Pierata got the better of him.

He is ready now and should improve dramatically in this and then on to the Everest.

Don't be surprised to see him installed as the new Everest favourite following this run. Yes.

Horse Racing Tip

Kolding

Has charged home strongly at all runs this prep and now up to 1600m suits perfectly.

He should race midfield with cover from the mid draw in gate 13, before peeling and charging home down the outside. Yes.

Handle The Truth

Is on a Kosciuszko path and has trialled like a bomb leading into this, winning both with a leg in the air.

He won at Rosehill to round out last prep and does love it first up (4:3-0-0).

Looks the likely leader here and should be very hard to run past.
