How did our resident tipsters fare?
Lays of the Day review
James Beeson potted two red-hot favourites on Saturday and while one of them just got up by a whisker, the other was spot on.
Readers of this article would've saved plenty of their dough by avoiding this highly fancied Godolphin runner.

His first lay was Osborne Bulls in Randwick Race 5.
First-up after a spell, it was the speed map that was the main reason behind Beeson laying this horse.
Osborne Bulls likes to get well back in the run and charge home.
In a race with just moderate speed up front, this was always going to be a challenge.
Osborne Bulls loomed on the outside, but didn't make any inroads.
Beeson's second lay was Verry Elleegant in Race 6..
After a sub-par spring campaign to date, and in a race with not much speed, there were a few reasons to avoid Verry Elleegant.
However, Beeson did concede that the 2000 metres would suit.
This fav needed every bit of that distance to just get up on the line.

A bit more luck and it would've been a different story.
