Best Greyhound Tipsters for 2020

2020 was a ripping year for the greyhound punters, with plenty of them having an absolute fill-up.

As good as the punters went though, the real story was how dominant SKY Racing were in the media department.

Their stable of greyhound form experts and race callers cleaned up deluxe, taking out the top 12 spots for media experts by Profit on Turnover (POT).

It was a pro punter from Victoria who took out the top gong in the Profit on Turnover (POT) category.

That honour fell to PuntersTrustFund, after his tips drove a bumper 31% POT.

This was thanks to 63 of his tips saluting at a fat average price of $4.83 to go along with an accurate strike rate of 27%.

June 18th sticks out as a day PuntersTrustFund won't forget in a hurry. He made an absolute mess of the bookies that day, jagging 5 winners including 3 double figure pops.

NSW based pro punter Josh2565 claimed the silver medal, yielding 27% POT from his 167 tips. 

He did all of his damage in the first half of the year, finding winners from Cannington in Perth to Forbury Pak in Dunedin.

Keep an eye out for him in 2021.

 

The first tipster from the SKY Racing kennel to get a mention is race caller Robert Brandolini, who rounds out the 2020 podium and came out on top of the media brigade.

The NSW country caller and form judge bagged 128 winners at a solid average price of $3.21 to return a cracking 27% POT.

On top of that, Brandolini is also showing a four-month profit streak at all tracks.

Best Greyhound Tipsters: Highest Cash Profit

This category ranks the highest cash profit using an even stake of $100 for all tips posted in 2020.

It typically rewards tipsters who make a profit from a greater number of tips.

 

We've seen some handy cash profit hauls in the past, but what Bestdogtip dished up in 2020 was something else.

The Victorian pro punter had a monstrous year, after tipping no less than 768 winners, at a mammoth average price of $6.53.

It's no wonder then that he clocked off with a mind-bogging $57,314 in cash profit. 

What makes this total even more impressive is the fact that Bestdogtip only joined theGreatTipOff.com in September.

That's right, his tips have generated almost $60K in little more than three months.

That's scary stuff, and why punters will be all over this bloke's greyhound tips in 2021.

 

Honourable mentions

Two other pro punters deserve a wrap for their strong performances in 2020.

The first is Ballarat local and long-time pro punter Jmon3y.

This bloke is one of the living legends here at theGreatTipOff.com, having been providing his tips since all the way back in 2011. 

Fast-forward to 2020 and Jmon3y had one of his best years on record, after tipping an astonishing 544 winners. 

This not only resulted in a superb 23% POT, but almost $30K in cash profit for anyone who followed all of Jmon3y's tips with $100 bets.

On top of that Jmon3y writes regular content for the site, providing some of his top tips each week.

His popularity will only grow following his 2020 effort.

 

The other deserved mention goes to fellow pro punter Roy Sundborg (Roysta). 

While the Victorians grabbed the bragging rights for 2020, plenty will be glad to see this Sydneysider fly the flag for the NSW brigade.

Roysta's 25 winners greeted the judge at a mouth-watering average price of $6.75.

The standout selection was La La Oregon that got home at The Meadows at bumper $26 odds in May.

All up, Roysta's tips generated a very handy 16% POT.

And considering he's been providing his greyhound tips for over a decade now, Roysta continues to be a favourite among punters.

As mentioned earlier, 2020 saw a sheer domination from the SKY Racing stable.

They took out the top 12 spots for media experts, with the leading five listed above.

Aside from all providing their tips under the SKY banner, what also unites this quintet is that they're all race callers.

We've mentioned countless times in the past the value of following the tips of the callers.

They're more familiar with the ins and outs of race day than just about anyone else in the industry.

On top of that, they watch the dogs closer than most, and become accustomed to the patterns that develop at their respective tracks.

 

Outside of Robert Brandolini, fellow New South Welshman Daniel Russ also deserves special mention for his prolific tipping in 2020.

The caller clocked off with a mind-bending 619 winners across the year, that saluted at a phenomenal strike rate of 39%.

Not only did he provide his followers with a 13% POT, but everyone who backed his tips with $100 bets also enjoyed a mammoth $20K in cash profit.
