Horse Racing Tips from Charene Woo
Happy Valley is the venue for Wednesday racing in Hong Kong this week, with a strong 9 race meeting ahead.
In race 8, the John Size trained Incanto Prepared eyes off a hat-trick of wins with Alexis Badel onboard, while Delightful Laos from the Tony Cruz stable is chasing a ticket in the four-year-old Classic series.
Ex-South Australian galloper Classy Jaybee, now renamed as Capital Star, makes his debut in race 9 over 1200m. He'll be ridden by premiership leading jockey Joao Moreira under the watchful eye of premiership leading trainer Caspar Fownes.
Moreira will ride all 9 races with a strong hand, and is the favourite to take out the jockey challenge. He has great chances on board the likes of Daily Beauty, U W Brother and Whiskey Neat.
Christophe Soumillon, Vincent Ho and Matthew Chadwick are suspended for this meeting.
Happy Valley Race 1 #3 Full Power $8.80
Full Power has two career wins to his name, one of which came this season over 2000m.
Following five starts at Sha Tin this season, this son from Frankel returns to Happy Valley tonight and has placed once from four races at the track.
Full Power runs over 2200m for the first time, but has the stamina to handle the rise in distance.
There will be a lack of pace in this race so if he can lead and control proceedings from out in front, he will be in the finish.
Looks a good each-way chance.
Happy Valley Race 2 #1 Bullish Brother $9.00
Bullish Brother is one of the horses in Hong Kong with great gate speed, which is very suitable at Happy Valley.
Apprentice jockey Jerry Chau rode this horse to a win earlier in the season over this same track and distance.
He showed little after that win, mainly due to fatigue. He stayed in Hong Kong after his last race and has been given 28 days between runs.
His trackwork has been strong lately and from gate 1 tonight, he can control the tempo from out in front and prove hard to catch.
