Big Prices Knocked Off
AAPTagged: Horse Racing Tips, James Beeson
This week’s market movers feature a number of big price moves at Flemington, where punters haven’t missed picking off runners at huge odds.
At Randwick the shorter prices have gone off, with a Highway runner from a big betting stable singled out for specific attention in betting.
After yet another successful year of detecting smart moves in early betting markets, we're determined to kick off 2021 on the front foot.
Flemington Tips
Tea Tales
Is from a very shifty yard and is the subject of a sustained long-price move ($71 into $26) on this occasion.
She jumps up to a more suitable 1600m here, and looks primed following the three good runs so far this preparation.
Simply loves this mile distance (9:4-0-1) and the move at big odds appears warranted.
Never Again
Fell in at Caulfield last start where his performance had plenty of merit, after he sustained a long run to claim them in the last stride.
He maps beautifully from barrier 4 here, where I expect them to position perfectly in the midfield moving line.
The booking of an in-form Michael Walker is also a positive.
Huntly Castle
Has earnt a trip back to town following an impressive Wagga win, where he showed great fight to keep on coming to beat them all.
He loves this track and distance (2:1-0-1) and being deep in the preparation, should now be rock hard fit.
If the speed goes on throughout, he should be the one mowing them all down late.
Exeter
Has the services of leading ride Damien Oliver, who would usually take his pick in this type of field.
He is first-up here and must be showing the stable plenty at home to warrant the strong support in betting.
The 1100m appears perfect and you can trust Olly to find a fast lane down the Flemington straight.
Randwick Tips
Pinnacle Prince
Was smashed in betting last start, before winning with ease at this track over 1100m.
With an ideal midfield draw in gate 7 here, he should receive a very economical run midfield with cover before charging late.
The Brett Cavanough stable are lethal when they bet and if more money arrives close to start time, expect him to simply win again.
Big Parade
Brained them all when winning by 3 lengths here last start.
He again races in Benchmark 88 grade and over the same 1200m distance, where there is no reason why he can’t go back-to-back.
Expect the rider to kick up along the inside to lead or sit just in behind the first pair. Either scenario should give the horse every chance.
New Arrangement
Was well in the market ($4.80) here last start over 1600m, before winning with ease in similar grade (Benchmark 78).
He should be reaching peak fitness following four runs in this preparation, where the step up to 1800m should now suit.
The use of the claiming apprentice (3kg) also appears favourable, with the weight relief a distinct advantage over longer distances.
More Prophets
Is lightly raced (6:2-1-3) with an ultra-impressive strike rate, and has the services of gun rider Kerrin McEvoy for this.
She only just missed (0.6 lengths) here last start when finishing 3 of 12 over 1400m.
From gate 6 expect they race in a midfield position and with any tempo up front she should be far too strong late.
