Gold Coast Race 9 Tip #14 Roman Aureus $5.00
I was keen on this Wakefield Racing trained galloper on Thursday at Doomben but connections elected to have crack at the higher prizemoney in this clash, which is a great sign.
He has a very solid overall record (13:4-3-2) and did catch the eye last prep with the way he hits the line hard.
The son of Red Element excels over this distance (6:3-1-1) and has won at his only start at the Gold Coast.
Regular rider Larry Cassidy will call on his experience to work him into a position from the wide gate and likely find himself around midfield in the run.
Keep an eye on him in the straight, as he will be the one getting to the middle of the track finishing too well for his rivals at a handy price.

Flemington Race 7 Tip #7 Riding The Wave $2.25
He produced a narrow win at Flemington over 1200m last start.
That was with a big weight of 58.5kg, after the 3kg claim for Will Price.
The son of Malibu Moon produced a faster time than Sirius Suspect did in the Standish.
He’s won over 1400m and has more upside than his rivals.
I expect him to find a great on-speed position and prove the superior galloper.

Ascot Race 3 Tip #1 La Farola $3.60
La Farola was the subject of strong support last start and duly saluted.
She comes out of the same class of three-year-old set-weight race and only goes up 1.5kg.
Meanwhile, favourite Tambora comes out of a maiden where those horses which finished behind him may never win a race. He was impressive in that race, but I'm happy to side with La Farola, particularly at the opening prices.
The rise to 1600m third-up is poses no concern, as she wasn't slowing down on the line last start.
In a race without much speed engaged, look for Tambora to lead and La Farola to slide forward and sit outside him.
From there it looks a two-horse war at the hands of WA's two premier jockeys!

Werribee Race 3 Tip #12 Zerette $5.50
This filly raced poorly on debut at Kilmore, but did have excuses.
She was wide with no cover and looked to over-race early, before failing to finish the race off with any vigour.
She has been given plenty of time to mature and returned with a jump-out, where she finished second to The Big Easy who has subsequently run well in town.
The tongue tie goes on and I'm expecting a much better run than her debut outing.
