12/1/19 Randwick Tips for Saturday

Best bets for Saturday racing at Randwick
The Royal Randwick course proper will play host to its first race meeting of the year.
The track is currently rated a Soft 6, but with warmer weather forecast in the lead-up to race day, we're likely to be racing on a Good 4 surface.
With the rail is out 9m from the 1600m to the winning post and 7m the remainder, you'd expect on-pace runners to have an edge.
We've taken a closer look at the quaddie legs, assessing the form guide and speed-maps to narrow down the best bets and top four selections in each race.
Race 6 TAB.COM.AU Handicap (BM78) 2400m
There is a distinct lack of pace engaged over the staying distance, which is likely to favour those runners who can sit-up on the speed.
Expect the Chris Waller trained runners, who have all drawn well, to control the speed and fight out the finish.
Second emergency, Yuralla Boy (17) can lead them up if he sneaks into the field.
Earth Angel (2) and Mazaz (3) will utilise their inside draws to take a forward position in the run, with Tunero (1) and Dusk Falls (9) likely to push forward from the gates.
Vihari (4) and Devil's Lair (6) will find themselves within striking distance of the leaders from their soft draws.
Devil's Lair drops 4kg from his last start defeat to stablemate Tunero and meets him 1.5kg better off at the weights, after finishing 0.2 lengths behind.
In a strong push for the chances of Devil's Lair, Glyn Schofield has jumped off Tunero and elected to ride the son of Pierro, who has a strong record on a Good track.
Drawn barrier six, look for Schofield to stalk the leaders in the run, before peeling wide to apply pressure to the leaders on turning for home. With a well-timed ride, expect to see Devil's Lair running over the top of his rivals.
Tunero saves his best for a rain-affected surface, and if there were unexpected showers on race day, he should be promoted to the top pick. Drawn barrier one, Rory Hutchings will afford him a soft run in transit to provide him every chance over the 2400m.
Mazaz saves his best for the this journey, with three wins and three places from six starts. If he gains the soft run he is expected to here, it's hard not to see him fighting out the finish.
Earth Angel ran second in the listed Tatts Cup on New Year's Day over the same distance, and with a good draw, he'll be competitive.
Best Racing Tips
1st Devil's Lair
2nd Tunero
3rd Mazaz
4th Earth Angel
Race 7 Australian Turf Club Handicap (BM 88) 1400m
There is only moderate speed engaged here in what appears to be a very open race.
Expecting the Bjorn Baker trained Samadoubt (10) to lead them up with ease.
Look for the rank outsider Brazen (1) to take a sit behind the leader and get a nice trail in the run, with Onslaught (5) and Sweet Deal (6) set to get an easy time of it behind the predicted slow-tempo.
Race favourite Paret (11) has a class edge on his rivals, but given the wide barrier draw he'll be ridden conservatively, spotting the leaders a huge margin.
Sweet Deal has returned in fine order this preparation. He has drawn to do no work and will sit just off the leader and ready to pounce on the home turn.
Paret ran well in the Group 3 Ritchie over this track and distance last preparation. He's clearly the best horse in the race but will need plenty of luck from back in the pack.
Brazen can run a place and represents good value for place and exotic punters. Drawn perfectly in barrier one to get an economical run and carrying only 54kg, the $12 to run top three is enticing.
Samadoubt will get his own way in the lead but has been exposed on more than one occasion when stepping up in grade.
Best Racing Tips
1st Sweet Deal
2nd Paret
3rd Brazen
4th Samadoubt
Race 8 #THERACES Handicap (BM 78) 1500m
There looks to be moderate speed engaged over the 1500m and you'd expect the 2kg claiming apprentice Jean Van Overmeire to roll forward aboard his mount King Tomlola (5) and dictate terms to his rivals.
Turnberry (2) has drawn perfectly and maps nicely with the 3kg claim for Robbie Dolan. Dolan will do little work to be afforded the gun run behind the nominated leader.
Chalmers (11) has the blinkers going on and will push forward to sit just off the leaders.
The short-priced favourite Thy Kingdom Come (10) will need plenty of luck from the wide draw and looks a risk at the $2.25 fixed odds.
Turnberry has drawn to do no work and looks to get the dream run just behind the leader. The 3kg claim is a huge plus and given the favourite will go back from the wide draw, Turnberry could be off and gone while Thy Kingdom Come is just warming up
King Tomlola has drawn well and should get a soft time of it in the lead. The 2kg claim for Van Overmeire is a huge plus, and you'd expect him to be fighting out the finish.
Thy Kingdom Come will spot the leaders a huge start and will need to produce a powerful sprint off a slow tempo.
Chalmers gets the blinkers on which should see him take a more forward position in the run. He's been luckless at his two previous starts and will be afforded every chance.
Best Racing Tips
1st Turnberry
2nd King Tomlola
3rd Thy Kingdom Come
4th Chalmers
Race 9 Autumn Carnival on Sale Handicap (BM 78) 1800m
There looks to be moderate speed engaged over the 1800m. Look for Koby Jennings to mark Intueri (3) urgent from the good draw, with Monsieur Sisu (10) and Dalmatia Prince (13) pushing forward from out wide.
Apart from these three runners there is little speed in the race, which will allow Island Missile (8) to slot in three pairs back off the fence to be afforded the run of the race.
The favourite Live And Free (11) is expected to go back from the wide draw and will need plenty of luck from there to salute.
Island Missile has been well supported in early betting. He gets the gun run here, and there is no reason he can't get the job done. Best Bet of the day at the $6.50 fixed odds!
Intueri has drawn well and should get a soft time of it in the lead. The step out to 1800m and a dry surface both enhance his chances of running a place.
Collateral is fourth-up and is reaching his peak fitness. He's won twice at this distance and is sure to improve. The 3kg claim is a bonus, and at $51 he's a blowout chance.
Best Racing Tips
1st Island Missile
2nd Intueri
3rd Live And Free
4th Collateral
