Shrewd early money

Punters are again active in early betting markets this week, picking off the mispriced runners at both key venues.

Last week we found two winners in Melbourne, where early market shoppers are on a hot run.

As always for extreme confidence on the below selections, look for a further move in betting close to jump.

Flemington

Flemington Tips

Wayupinthesky

Has won her past two and following the recent Newcastle romp as a short priced favourite ($1.75), connections have sent her straight to “headquarters” in Melbourne.

Team Snowden must have a high opinion of her and this particular yard is lethal when they put the money on.

Just needs a touch of luck from the wide draw to be fighting out the finish.

Rox The Castle

Won well at Sandown last start, when he was hard in the market.

He now returns to Flemington, where he's already tasted victory over this distance.

He has an excellent strike rate and gets the services of gun rider Craig Williams.

First try at stakes level is the only query, however I'm happy to bet that he can make the grade. Yes.

Dalasan

Is dominating everything in Adelaide and certainly deserves his chance in the big leagues of Melbourne.

He is already a winner at Group 3 level and did place at Group 2 level, hence this class won't be an issue.

Love the speed map, where from gate 6 he should get to midfield and find cover with ease. Yes.

Demerara

Godolphin galloper who blew them all away in her final run last prep at Listed grade.

If they are tackling Group 2 level as the first-up assignment, it's an indication that she is flying at home and ready to perform fresh.

If the money came again late and hard, she should simply win.

Rosehill

Rosehill Tips

Gem Dealer

Is from the shrewd Brett Cavanagh yard, who love to bet and it looks as though they have unleashed here.

She ran in a Highway race last start, where not all went right after being held up and tightened for room.

She managed to battle on however, to finish a close up 4 of 14.

Given more luck this time out, expect her to be fighting out the finish.

Shock Alert

Bjorn Baker is flying, as is the rider Nash Rawiller. With confidence on both fronts sky-high, the money looks warranted.

He just missed last start when 2 of 9 at this track over 1500m, and the extra distance of the 1800m should suit.

Now rock hard fit, he should race right on top of the speed and attempt to grind them into the ground. Should be too tough.

Dabiyr

Romped it in at Mooney Valley by over 4 lengths last start and looks very well placed here, again in similar grade.

James McDonald will put him right in the firing line and could easily find the premier position one-out one-back or lead if desired.

This doesn’t look an overly strong field and he should account for this sub-par lot. Yes.

Superium

Draws a fraction awkward out in barrier 12, however he does have the natural tactical speed to carve across and lead or sit outside.

Although beaten last start when 5 of 8, it was a hot race and the form out of it should prove enormous.

Needs to get control early and if he receives a cheap sectional at any stage, will be there at the end.
