We are a little bit slow out of the gates this month with the Tipster of the Month award not to say that the efforts of the three award winners was not worth making a noise about.
Applying the ten tip minimum check on all profits made in February the tipster who managed to show the greatest win profit from their selections was the Sydney Morning Herald's Patrick Bartley. Bartley recorded eleven best bet tips as part of his contribution to The Form on Friday's and Saturday's in the SMH, finding five winners. His effort delivered a huge 125% win profit on turnover which translates to $1,375 extra cash in the bank for punters following him with $100 win bets.
Not far away in the runner up position was ProPunter. Highlighting his ability to find value runners in the form guide his 122% win profit came from only five winners out of forty tips. That means average winning odds of $17.72 from his winners in February. The good news for punters is that has continued his good form into March and is regularly posting his midweek and weekend selections in the Tip Market for sale.
Last month's second runner up was ThePuss. He found eight winners from his eighteen tips for a very impressive 93% win profit.

Popular form gurus get the money again
There a two form analysts, one each from the punters and media camp, who are tipping winners like they are going out of fashion at present. The punter, Cim85, topped the list with only one winner from his four tips over the seven day period, but what makes the professional tipster's effort so special is the price of the winner and his consistency over time. Cim85 tipped Opinion at Rosehill on Saturday paying $25.80 best tote with his three other tips not getting a place to give him a 545% win profit for the week. Could be seen as a flash in the plan but when you review his tipping history it is a very impressive statement of quality form analysis.
- Qualified as a professional horse racing tipster back in 18 August 2010;
- Currently boasts 52% win profit on turnover from his 62 tips over the past three months;
- His winners over the three month period have an average win price of $5.87 demonstrating his ability to find value for the punters following his selections; and
- Over the past 12 months his tips have also made a profit.
There is a similar tale to tell for the Media's top profit maker this week. Esteemed form guru Mark Hunter tipped another four winners from his nine selections at Flemington on Saturday. His winners included the $11.80 pop, Bring Me The Maid and Adamantium paying $14.20 best tote. He also found three places with only two of his nine tips failing to get a place. You would have to go back to January to find a weekend when the Melbourne form analyst had a losing weekend. Hunter has made an impressive 56% win profit for the punters following his selections from 84 tips posted over the last three months.
Other punters making money last week include Cromis55 with 2 wins for 313% win profit and Moose with 3 winners for 225% win profit.
Long shots from winning punters
The winners at big odds came mostly from punters this week. As usual we are only mentioning those ones that also managed to make a profit in the week.
The big stand out was BeautifulFart with the winner at the biggest odds, Sunday Rain paying $57.60 and another, My Quilter at Eagle Farm coming in at $23.30. He found another 8 winners from his 64 tips in the week for a massive 97% win profit on turnover. Punters following him will be happy they paid the cash for his tips with $100 win bets delivering punters a total profit of $6,208.
MickGrow took the honours for the most winners at big odds with three of his winning tips in the Top 13 including Themes Choice paying $35.80, Treasure Son paying $20 and Lalita paying $19.70. He tipped 8 other winners during the week from his 94 tips for a respectable 24% win profit on turnover.
Remember the Horse Racing Tip Market. It's the only web page in Australia that has punters and all the top media tipster's best bets in one place.
There's no better advantage on the punt than knowing the race track and how it is likely to influence the outcome of a race. Speed maps are nowhere near as effective without intimate track knowledge. Here's a quick look at the two key tracks where today's big races will be run: Flemington, with the running of the Australian Guineas, and Rosehill with the Hobartville and the Silver Slipper Stakes. Flemington is running on a Good 3 with the rail in the True position for the entire circuit. Rosehill is a Slow 6 with the rail out 6 metres for the entire circuit.
We would not expect to see much of a track bias at all at Flemington under these conditions today other than possibly the theoretical, but unproven, wind assistance on the inside and outside rails.
Rosehill is a different story with the wet conditions at the track. There is a high likelihood that there will be a strong bias favouring front runners today. Back markers are likely to have a very difficult time especially for meetings later in the program where the field will fan wider to inside the inside, giving more work to those behind to take a clear path to the winning post. Punters are advised to look at for speed out of the gate from inside barrier positions that will more easily establish a good forward position in the race.
Tipsters with top form at Flemington include James Polson from the Sydney Morning Herald. He has recorded 9 wins over the past 12 months at the track for 84% win profit on turnover. Addazero boasts 22 life time wins at Flemington for 40% win profit on turnover. Next best life time profits come from Octagonal33 who has 12 wins at the course fro 39% win profit.
Tipsters with top Rosehill form include PrinceRubiton with 11 wins for 163% win profit at the track and Addazero appearing again with 30 wins at Rosehill for 32% win profit on turnover.
