6/8/20 Best horse racing tips today

Coffs Harbour is the focus on Thursday with a bumper eight race card ahead, highlighted by the Coffs Harbour Cup.

The track is currently rated a Soft 6 and mostly fine weather is forecast for the NSW north coast town. 

The rail is in the true position which should afford all runners their chance. 

 

 

From the stewards

The horse that stands out in the pre-steward's report here is Lose The Snip, who lines up in race 8.  

The Mossman mare was without luck last start, when she travelled three-wide without cover.

Jockey Ben Looker started to apply pressure on the mare at the 500m mark, but she only grinded to the line. 

Looker commented that the run was disappointing, but with even luck here an improved showing is on the cards.

Coffs Harbour Race 2 Tip #11 In A Step $6.00

The Sidestep mare is looking to build on a solid placing at Grafton.

After leading most of the way over the 1000m, she was run over late by Kiss My Swiss and Eleazar.

She's been given a few weeks off which is ideal, given she performs well fresh. Drawing the inside barrier for this assignment with her regular jockey Jon Grisedale aboard also plays into her hands.

She drops 3kg from her last run and is proven to handle the rain affected track. 

Look for her to stroll to the lead from the inside draw and with a soft time of it in front, she'll prove hard to chase down.
