Doomben Race 4 Tip #2 Bering Sea $4.20

He was a big drifter in betting last start at Doomben, before finishing strongly into second behind Fastnet Cyclone.

That form from that race has held up well, with Fastnet Cyclone going on to run a close second to the in-form Cloak.

At the start prior, he charged home to record another runner-up finish, despite not seeing clean air until the 200m mark. It's worth noting that he ran past Bryneich in that clash, who he will duel again with here.

With no real on-pacers in this field, gun jockey Ryan Maloney will have the option to either boot forward from the wide gate or drop back in the small field. Either way, he won’t be too far off them when his late sprint is called upon.

The son of Pierro looks to have found the right race and is set to be rewarded for his recent good patch of form.

Sandown Hillside Race 4 Tip #8 Magnolia Man $3.10

This Kiwi raider makes his debut on Australian soil here.

His second-up win in New Zealand last prep at Waikouaiti was very good.

He was over-racing early in that clash, so the jockey decided to pull him into clear air and went for home with roughly 500m to go. In a gutsy effort, he proved too strong and scored by 2 lengths.

At his next outing, he ran second behind a talented mare called Festivity, who had won her previous start by 6 lengths.

He's now under the care of the Busuttin & Young stable in Victoria and has impressed since arriving in Australia.

His recent jump-out suggests he is ready to go, winning comfortably under his own steam.

Warwick Farm Race 3 Tip #5 Notabadidea $12.00 each-way

The Greg and Jim Lee trained galloper certainly doesn't win out of turn, but when he does it's on rain affected going. 

His victory two starts back over the Canterbury 1550m on a Heavy 8 came as a shock to most, after he started a $21 outsider in a small field. 

He then ran well over the same conditions, finishing fourth behind some decent mid-week gallopers. 

His two runs since a freshen-up have been very good and while this is a big jump in distance to the 2200m, he has fitness on his side. 

This is an even race with very little between these lowly rated runners, so his strong ratings on rain affected surfaces should carry him a long way. 

He's a winner over 2000m, proven on a Heavy surface and is in career best form.

The $12 available looks great value and should be played on 2win x 3place basis.
