Eagle Farm R6 Tip #3 Rock Beat $2.80

This son of Easy Rocking looks primed to keep his undefeated first-up record intact here.

His performance stats are outstanding, having won 6 from his 12 career starts. The following form facts are also in his favour:

• he's proven at Eagle Farm (2:2-0-0)
• he loves the 1000m distance (5:4-0-1); and  
• he flies when fresh (3:3-0-0).

Even though he will start from a wide gate here, expect him to go back and sit off a hot speed.

Look for Michael Cahill to save him for one finishing burst down the outside of the big Eagle Farm straight, to get the party started.

Cranbourne Race 3 Tip #6 Tovolo Gap $6.50

This lightly raced filly looks to have returned in good order this preparation.

She was unlucky first-up from a spell at Pakenham when clipping heels, but still managed to finish second.

She then went to Seymour and ran third behind promising gelding Cabinho, who went on to win well in town.

The filly's breakthrough win at Pakenham last start rated well on the clock and I think she can keep progressing here.

Cranbourne Race 1 Tip #2 Frederick The Dane $2.35 

This two-year-old from the Lindsay Park stable returns to the track after being gelded and looks awfully hard to beat.

In his first prep, he finished behind Ole Kirk and Mildred who have since gone on to run well in stronger two-year-old races.

In both of those hit-outs, he showed decent speed but weakened over the concluding stages.

There's no doubt he would have benefited from that experience and younger horses generally improve sharply from their first preparation.

Recently, he's had one public jump out at Flemington where he showed decent gate speed and gapped his rivals in the fastest heat of the morning.

He strikes a winnable race here over 1000m and the improving track conditions will only boost his chances.

As a strong two-year-old, he looks suited drawn out wide and Michael Rodd can use his early speed to find an on-speed position and prove very hard to catch.
