14/7/20 Best horse racing tips today

Ballina hosts Tuesday racing in the north of NSW, with a solid seven race card scheduled.

The track is currently rated a Heavy 9, whilst fine weather and a top of 19 degrees is forecast.

The rail is in the true position, which should give each runner their chance.

 

 

From the stewards

The horse that stands out in the pre-steward's report is Hogan's Dare, who lines up in race 3. The Tavistock gelding nearly broke his maiden status last time out and is well placed to do so here. 

Last start he travelled keenly throughout the early stages and when approaching the first turn, he reared his head when being restrained by the rider.

He then laid out under pressure over the concluding stages, which no doubt cost him the win.

Ballina Race 7 Tip #3 Amirykal $1.95

The Akeed Mofeed filly looks to continue her strong form today.

She was very good last start when travelling to Sydney for the TAB Highway Handicap, when finishing third behind subsequent winner Rothenburg.

The step back to a BM58 here is a decent drop in class, which sees her as the class runner in the field.

The rain affected track is a huge plus given her proven record on the heavy going (3:2-0-1). 

Matt McGuren jumps back on and he knows the filly well.

From the soft draw in barrier 2, look for McGuren to get her into a nice position behind the leaders and be ready to strike in the straight.

She ticks all the boxes and is the one to beat!
