Warm winter leads

In addition to our Melbourne coverage this week, we focus on the Stradbroke Day card at Eagle Farm where pro punters have been actively snapping up value in early betting markets.
In Brisbane, a Sydney two-year-old has been singled out at a big price and could start even shorter if the strong interest continues.
Whilst at Flemington, the key booking of Damien Oliver indicates a horse is primed and ready to perform well.
Flemington Tips
Zesty Belle
Started favourite on debut here at Flemington when she raced greenly, and will be much better for the experience on this occasion.
They have drawn the right gate in barrier 11 to find the best part of the track, which in recent times has been down the centre section.
Expect the rider to tuck in behind the first few, before darting through late.
Coolth
Has the key booking of the Damien Oliver, who normally has his choice of ride in most Melbourne fields.
This gelding is unbeaten with two dominant wins in SA provincial grade, and certainly deserves his chance in Victorian Winter season city grade.
Steps-up to 2000m from the mile and looks well suited to run it right out based on his strength late in recent runs.
Masaff
Is from the powerful Waller yard who have booked Craig Williams and are sure to be trying here third-up.
He was soft in betting late last time out, which is typical of this stable when they are one run short of full fitness and not there to win.
Smells like a classic Waller set-up to me and it looks as though he's been placed to perfection. Yes.
Triton Rising
Won well first-up at Pakenham when jumping as the $1.40 favourite, before sitting wide and doing it with a touch of arrogance.
He does have stakes level experience throughout last preparation, which will hold him in good stead for this.
Second-up is perfect (1:1-0-0) and the heavy support in betting last time out suggests he is flying.
Eagle Farm Tips
Soxagon
Has an ultra impressive overall record (14:5-4-1) and is 2 from 2 this time in.
He looks ideally suited here and has the tactical speed to lead if they choose, or to tuck in just behind if needed.
Brad Stewart is clearly the leading rider in Queensland at the moment and should get the job done here on the hot pot.
Spirits Choice
This move has been exacerbated by the scratching of Desert Man, however it is still significant and worth noting.
She drops back from stakes grade and will appreciate the easier company of benchmark 85 class here.
From gate 12, the rider can find cover midfield in the moving line and be finishing off in the best going, which is likely to be 6-10 lanes (centre track) off the rail.
Not An Option
Is a fascinating runner who has been a big spruik all week by plenty of pro punters.
He is more proven at the distance when compared to those who are tackling 1400m for the first time, with some of these a query over running the trip right out.
Expect more support in betting on race day and if hard inside the last 30 seconds, he should go very close. Yes.
Aquitaine
Had enough support ($5.00 into $4.60) at stages in betting last start to suggest she has been showing something at home.
She should take good improvement from the first-up run at Rosehill, and she would not have travelled to Queensland if they did not fancy her as a genuine hope.
Trust the shrewd Godolphin placement of horses to be correct here and you can expect her to be in the finish.
