Vicious Valley plunges

Saturday Victorian racing returns to Moonee Valley this week, a venue where horses are often targeted in betting due to their more suited ability around the tighter turning track.

Rosehill has also attracted a good card, with punters honing in early on a number of runners featured below.

Any further push in betting close to start time for the below selections would indicate that the professional money is very confident.

Crosshaven

Was unwanted on debut at Geelong when $6.50 out to $10, before winning with ease by 3.25 lengths.

This is harder, however he appears highly talented and the support in betting suggests he has come on since the first-up win.

The rider Daniel Stackhouse is in white-hot form and is winning on anything lately.

Smoke Bomb

Last start he finished 8 of 12 at Caulfield, when he bungled the start and was never a hope after the early mistake.

The draw is perfect in gate 2 and from there he should receive run of the race favours, tucked just in behind the leading pair.

He was a complete forgive last time out and can easily bounce back to winning form here.

Harbour Views

Has a touch of quality and steamed home at Morphettville in stakes grade, to finish 3 of 14 over 1600m.

The step up to 2040m now looks ideal, and with the extra journey he should have enough time to reel in the leaders on this occasion.

He just needs to handle the tighter Moonee Valley circuit to be in the finish.

Broadwayandfourth

Has a lethal turn of foot late and if the speed goes on up front, expect her to storm home over the top to win.

She was excellent winning at Caulfield last start, when she was also heavily backed ($7.50 into $5.50) before charging late to collar them all.

With any speed in the race, she is highly likely to win again.

Adermatt

Has shown plenty in both career starts, winning on debut before only going down narrowly here (2 of 8) at Rosehill last time out.

The colt is a rare Godolphin external purchase, being by Snitzel. As a result, the team will be desperate to prove their ability to select horses that have not been bred on their own farm.

He is being carefully managed and you can expect him to be primed to win here. Yes.

Bound To Win

Recorded the best last 400m sectional of the entire day, when winning with ease here last start.

The stable are very shrewd and would be keen to produce another winning result for the high profile owner, who has supported them well.

She just needs a touch of luck from gate 11 to find the moving line with cover, and from there she can race away with it again.

Matowi

James McDonald has chosen to ride this gelding, which is an excellent lead in itself given he can usually take his pick.

He was okay first-up at Randwick after having genuine excuses when being held up. Despite the troublesome run, he still finished close enough when only 2.3 lengths off the winner.

Given more luck here and a favourable speed map from gate 7, expect him to be fighting out the finish.

Bangkok

Has promised plenty all campaign and this may just be the perfect race for her to deliver.

Now rock hard fit, she has raced in stakes grade for the entire campaign and finally drops back in class to a benchmark 98 event.

With good fitness on her side, expect apprentice Chris Williams to go forward and race closer.

Look for her to be in the firing line for a very long way.
