Robust Betting Moves

This week’s edition of market movers has identified strong betting action at both key Melbourne and Sydney venues.

At Flemington, a Maher/Eustace runner has sparked interest after being well backed in previous starts and saluting last time out.

Whilst at Randwick, the wet conditions look set to suit a country based runner who has good tactical speed early.

For the below selections, any further move close to start time would add extreme confidence.

Khoekhoe

Won the rich Showdown race last start at Caulfield in impressive fashion, when he stormed home from a long way back to prevail right on the line.

Matt Cumani is building a strong record and clearly has a stable system in place that is working.

From the good draw in gate 3, they can race slightly closer to the speed here. In a slow run race, he'll be perfectly positioned to strike.

La Chevalee

Was hard in betting ($51 into $16) at Caulfield two starts back and unlucky not to finish closer, when she was crowded for room at a vital stage before finishing 8 of 14.

She has since come out and won well at Sandown last start and is likely to have shown the stable plenty at home.

Any further market support suggests she should be winning. Yes.

Alfa Oro

Has been very dominant in weaker grade at Pakenham recently, winning his past two.

This is a step-up in grade to benchmark 78 and city class, however he certainly deserves his chance and should be suited by the bigger track.

From barrier 14, look for them to take bad luck out of the equation and carve across to find the front.

Should prove very hard to run down.

Milwaukee

Recorded some of the best late race sectionals of the day here last start, when he only just missed by 0.2 lengths and probably should have won after shying in towards the winning post.

The step-up to 1200m here now looks perfect and he should be one of the strongest late.

If the outside section of the track is favoured, he has drawn ideally to take advantage in gate 12.

Expect further support in betting close to start time.

Tejori

Won the Highway event here last start, when he settled close to speed and chased hard all the way to the line.

With speed drawn inside, I suspect they'll find it hard to be as close on this occasion. However, a midfield moving line position is still ideal.

Gun rider Kerrin McEvoy sticks following the last start success, which adds confidence.

Miss Einstein

Looked unlucky here last time out when blocked for a run at the 75m mark and possibly should have won.

She is likely to get back in the field as per her usual racing pattern and with any tempo, has shown the ability to get home hard late.

Given any luck this time out, expect her to atone with a win.

Man Of Peace

Has proven wet form (15:2-3-5) on the board, which will be key on the likely rain-affected surface at Randwick this Saturday.

He placed 3 of 12 last start in a strong edition of the Wagga Town Plate, and he'll take improvement into this second-up assignment.

With good tactical speed, expect them to overcome the wide draw in gate 12 and carve across to lead or race close.

Sakura

Was only 2.3 lengths off a very smart one in Rocha Clock last start here on the Kensington surface.

She was well fancied in the market on that occasion ($6.50 into $5.00) and has an SP profile, which suggests a winning performance is likely here.

Trust leading rider Hugh Bowman to get the job done.
