20/4/19 Free horse racing tips at Oakbank

Oakbank is currently rated a Good 4, with the rail in the true position.

The forecast is for warm weather on Saturday, with the track likely to get an upgrade into the Good 3 range at some stage during the meeting

It's advised to watch the first few races and take note of any track bias before betting.

 

Oakbank Race 4 Tip #8 Miss Mosh $6.00

This mare by Moshe had plenty to offer last start, but was unable to find clean air in the straight which cost her any chance of victory.

On-paper, her sixth in a BM64 won't appeal to many punters, however with even luck in that race she could have easily finished in the top two.

While she goes up in grade for this race, she does return to her own sex and drops 1.5kg.

Stepping up in distance and from the good draw in barrier three, she'll sit much closer to the pace this time around.

This will allow her to to be well positioned in the run and avoid settling beyond mid-field like she did last start.

She ticks plenty of boxes and looks great value at the $6 fixed odds.

 

Oakbank Race 8 Tip #9 Crown Fontein $13.00 each-way

This progressive gelding has come up big odds, as he looks to improve on his already impressive career record.

While this is a step up from BM74 to listed grade, he's shown that there is plenty of scope in his four career wins.

His last win before heading out for a short spell was over the talented Amberdi. That runner has won 7 of 12 career starts and was competitive in the listed C S Hayes Stakes, before winning a BM86 in good style.

Drawn barrier nine, Crown Fontein will come out of the gates with plenty of gusto and is likely to lead them up.

His main rivals are expected to sit just off the pace and if jockey Sairyn Fawke gets left alone in front, he'll prove too strong for his rivals. 

I expect this galloper to have taken improvement from the short spell and with residual fitness on his side, he could very well produce a career peak performance.

The $13 fixed odds looks overs and he looks a good each-way bet.
