Sandown Lakeside Race 5 Tip #9 Debate $6.50

This talented filly from the Hawkes stable didn't go a yard in the rain last start and will take significant improvement getting back to a dry surface.

Her run prior to that was a first-up effort in a 3yo BM70 at Rosehill. In a race that was dominated by on-speed runners, she made up good ground from back in the field and relished the dry track and long Rosehill straight.

Now back to the 1300m on a Good 4 here, she meets a weaker field and appears to get her chance in this race.

With plenty of speed drawn underneath, you can expect jockey Dwayne Dunn to ride patiently beyond mid-field.

Look for Dunn to chime in off the hot-tempo, with a well-timed run to fly late.

 

Sandown Lakeside Race 7 Tip #4 Venezuela $6.50

The Lloyd Williams owned galloper returns to the races after a two-year spell and a gelding operation.

His most recent trial indicated that he's come back in good order and there is no doubt team Williams will have big goals in mind.

The 2kg claim for apprentice Lachlan King is a massive plus and with limited speed engaged in this race, you can expect him to push forward and ride positively from the wide draw.

This galloper looks to have plenty of upside and could easily blow this field away.

Don't be surprised to see late support for him and at the current $6.50, it's worth an early throw at the stumps.

Warwick Farm Race 2 Tip #14 Wayupinthesky $2.30

This filly by Snitzel went into her debut run with some big wraps after only a couple of trials.

She was far from disgraced in the Group 2 Reisling, making very good ground after the line against much fitter opposition.

The first four to past the post had already notched up multiple wins, so with natural improvement coming into this, the filly will be extremely hard to beat.

 

Sandown Lakeside Race 2 Tip #2 Judge O’reilly $3.30

This colt has always shown ability in trials, but hasn't been able to bring it to the races with bad manners holding him back.

Those issues looked to be resolved and a close-up second last start to the promising Stocktaka reads well for this.

Stocktaka has since won a benchmark 64 at this track, franking that form.

He's rock-hard-fit and gets his chance to breakthrough here.
