1/2/20 Harness racing tips: Albion Park

Punters have 10 races to dissect at Albion Park on Saturday night.

There are some nice horses going around throughout the night and we'll see the return of a couple of the top local ones in the FFA.

The track has been playing fair recently, so you can expect all runners to get a fair chance and little to no bias.

Race 1 TAB BAND 4 / BAND 2 PACE ; 2138MS ; 5.06PM

I think this race is very open and there are some nice horses going around.

CLARRY (3) might not have the best numbers beside his name, but he has been going very well for a while now without much luck.

His gate speed is underrated and I give him a good chance of finding the fence first tonight. From there, he becomes a massive winning chance. 

SECRETAGENT TYCOON (2) was driven very aggressive early last start and it paid off, as he found the front and was never going to be beat from there.

He doesn't have the best gate speed which is a worry tonight, but he is going very well and should land close enough to the speed. He is going to be a major factor.

MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (11) has been going for a long time now and deserves another win.

The draw might look average on paper, but if there is some good pressure in the middle of this one he is sure to be very strong late. A nice horse and a good chance at what should be some nice value.

JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (12) has had a freshen up, but that shouldn't worry her here.

She draws the outside of the second row but that doesn't matter as she always needs a nice cart into the race and with a bit of luck she will be charging at these late.

There are many other chances, but there isn't much room for anyone in a 100% market.

CASINO TOMMY (1) is going very well but I have him getting crossed early, which hurts his chances. If he manages to hold the front, he is the one to get.

TENNYSON BROMAC (4) is a very classy horse, but he is first-up off a break and the map doesn't look overly good for him, so I am happy to watch him tonight.

CLARKEY (8) can hug the fence and if it opens up for him late, he is going to worry a few. DREAM TO SHARE (9) is ready to win, but just needs the right trip.

ALWAYS IN COMMAND (10) might be in for a rough trip here and doesn't get his usual driver, which is sure to shave a few seconds off him. Happy to pot it.

It's a very good race and I'm likely to have multiple bets, so take a good look at the assessed prices and bet accordingly.

Race 3 GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND BAND 5 PACE ; 1660M ; 6.13PM 

The start of this race is very important, but I do think DAPPER (2) can get his skates on early and push through to hold the lead here. CHAPTER ONE (6) can really leave the mobile well and is the worry, but he has been pacing very well of late.

I think DAPPER (2) can do enough here. From the front end, they will have a very tough time running him down and even if he has to sit outside CHAPTER ONE (6) his night won't over. 

MAJOR CURRENCY (1) is another that is a worry with the early speed map, as he was a bit slow to muster on Tuesday and than was stuck three back on the fence.

If he can kick through tonight and hold the leaders back, he is going to be hard to stop late along the inside. Going well and ready to win. 

CHAPTER ONE (6) has only one option if he wants to win and that is to try and cross. He led and was a bit flat on Tuesday, but the driver change might spark him up a bit. This stable's horses have tended to lift for this driver when they land in front.

Have to keep him safe here, because if he crosses early then he's right in this.

RANDOM TASK (4) will have to do the work in the run here I think. He isn't overly quick out of the mobile, which is my concern for him tonight.

I'm never as keen on this stable's horses away from home also, so we'll need a really nice price to get involved in this one given the poor map.

The start is crucial here.

Race 7 PRYDES EASIFEED QUALIFYING B PACE ; 2138M ; 8.07PM 

MY SECRET BEACH (2) hasn't delivered in QLD yet, but he did show very good gate speed last week. This means that he should have no trouble leading this.

I think that from the front end, this horse will improve a lot and prove too good out in front tonight. 

CAMROLLER (1) surprised a few at Marburg on Monday, when he flew down the outside late and got the money. There was a BBQ upfront early which helped his cause, but he did run past a couple of decent ones.

He gets a good gate tonight and from the likely spot behind the leader, should get every chance in this one.

TAYLOR HOOD (9) is going okay, but he's been going okay for a long time now.

This class of race is very suitable, however the map is against him. He always gives his best and is sure to be thereabouts at the end. 

HUNTAWAY (8) is going okay and the draw tonight isn't the worst. I do think the fence line will be the place to be at the back end of this one, so for that reason I am giving him a chance also.
