Newcastle Race 5 Tip #1 Through The Cracks $3.70
This talented gelding returned to the races off a 181-day spell, running an admirable fifth at Canterbury over 1100m.
He was forced to circle the field from near last around the tight turning track and did very well to run within 1.2 lengths off the winner.
Now out to the bigger Newcastle circuit and with an unbeaten second-up record, it's fair to suggest that this galloper ticks plenty of boxes.
He's had three wins and a second from four starts at the 1200m and is a winner at the track and distance.
The wide barrier draw is in his favour, as it will ensure he's not cluttered up underneath runners.
Punters can expect jockey Andrew Gibbons to ride quietly from back in the field, before peeling wide and flying over the top late.

This filly is by I am Invincible, a well know good producer of talented two-year-old's. The Dam, Thiamandi, was blessed with talent too, being a winner of six races which included a victory at Stakes level.
She has won both her trials and I believe she took good improvement from the first into the second.
The second trial was the eye catcher for mine. They looked to go at a good clip up front in that hit-out, but she was able to sprint late and win the trial. In a positive sign, she ran a faster time than the speedy Lashes who raced in a trial on the same day.
Barrier two ensures a soft run for Tommy Berry and with even luck in the run, she should prove too classy for these.
