Sandown Hillside Race 3 Tip #1 Hard Press $3.20

This colt showed potential at the jump-outs and then backed that effort up on the track in his first preparation.

He drew barrier 16 in his debut run and was forced to race wide throughout, before chasing hard to the line to finish an admirable fourth.

He was then sent to Morphettville for an easy kill, defeating his rivals with ease over 1250m.

The son of Shamexpress bow returns from a 150 day spell, off the back of two nice jump-outs and he looks ready to fire first-up.

From the widest draw in barrier 8, expect Ben Melham to sit last in the running line. Look for him to then peel off heels in the straight and fly over the top of them late.

This colt looks to be an above average galloper and if he wins this, you'd expect him to string a few more wins together this prep.

Warwick Farm Race 1 Tip #7 Sulking $3.00

This three-year-old filly is out of the mare Tears I Cry, the horse who sprung to fame after her upset win in the 2007 Emirates Stakes at odds of 100-1.

Sulking had her first career start over 870m in July at Toowoomba. She ran well on that occasion, hitting the front early and pulling away from the field in the straight to win without being overly tested.

The form from that race has been franked, with the 4th and 5th placed runners going onto to notch up victories.

Since that maiden win, she's had good time to mature and has changed training camps from Kevin Kemp to team Hawkes.

The Hawkes stable sent her out for a trial a fortnight ago at Rosehill, where she travelled under her own steam and looked as comfortable as she did on debut.

She finished 2 of 8 but picked up the winner Petronius after the line. This suggests that she'll appreciate the rise in distance from her debut run.

I like that Avdulla retains the ride from the trial and from barrier one, he can be positive without testing her early.

With a soft run transit, she can conserve energy before proving too strong late.
