Punters pounce on bookie blunders

With the Spring carnival form now well exposed, the bookies appear to have priced a more accuracte book for the big Derby Day Flemington meet, with fewer savage betting moves noted in early markets.

However we have still found two runners that have been attacked on the Flemington card, in addition to a decent amount of movers at Rosehill.

Last week we were airborne with our early betting movers report finding no fewer than 5 winners from 6 selections! We look to continue that form this week with the below market mover picks.

Rosehill Betting Moves

The Tenor

Kris Lees appears to have a huge opinion of this colt after taking on stakes level at Randwick last start in the Listed Brian Crowley.

He ran third on that occasion and drops way down in grade here after taking on some horses that race in the Coolmore at Flemington this week. Class should prevail.

Handle The Truth

Canberra raider who has been racing well and did plunder a highway race two starts back when winning impressively.

The stable and ownership group like a bet and have obviously been given the green light to do so here by Keith Dryden. They should go home with more than just the prizemoney.

Raqeeq

Showed enormous ability on occasion however has proved inconsistent and extremely hard to catch of late. Waller must have him ready to go this week and appears to have found a very weak race for him.

He should be far too good for this average lot and the money looks spot on. Yes.

Schubert

Will position close to speed in a race that will favour the leaders due to lack of genuine tempo.

Form has been okay and his 1 length off Sexy Eyes two starts back is a great indicator that he is in this contest, with that horse coming out to brain a field at Randwick last start when backed off the map.

The creamy form lines should hold up here and punters have not missed him in betting. Yes.

Fierce Impact

Has an excellent SP profile where he came in for good support in betting here at Rosehill two starts back.

The stable had a throw at the stumps and went to Melbourne for the Group 1 Toorak last start, which shows how highly they rate him.

Back to this grade he can toy with them. Money looks warranted.

Flemington Early Betting Moves

A Prince Of Arran

Showed enough in the Herbert Power at his Australian debut to command serious respect for this.

He was only 1.7 lengths off Melbourne Cup favourite Yucatan on that occasion which is seriously strong form.

Will be getting well back in the field, leaving Michael Walker to weave his magic. Yes.

Star Of Carrum

Surprised most at Moonee Valley when saluting at odds of $50 last start. He chased hard on that occasion to prevail right on the line and that dour display sets him up perfectly for the added journey of the Derby trip.

Looks a pure stayer and will just eat up the ground. Can go back to back here.
